As International Women’s Day comes to a close, I just wanted to wish all the lovely ladies who read and follow this blog a Happy (belated) International Women’s Day! I hope each one of you had an amazing day and that you remembered to listen to “I’m Every Woman” by Whitney Houston (or the original version by Chaka Khan if you fancy), to remind yourselves just how amazing you are.
I also hope that in all the hype of posting pictures of the awesome women in their lives on social media, people actually took the time out to read up on the phenomenal women that inspired the day and the struggles they went through to ensure future generations of women would have the most basic of rights.
Rights such as voting, civil rights/equality, access to education, equal employment opportunities, having control over their own bodies and reproductive rights, and so much more. Remember, “knowledge is power”.
